Hart's Amphitheater

History

The concept for the Hart's Amphitheater started in 1988 shortly after a one acre lot adjacent to the church was purchased to provide parking for church services. The upper part of this lot had a rather steep incline on the north side of the property. As people were marveling at the beautiful view from this lot, we started thinking what an ideal location this would make for conducting Hart's Easter Sunrise Services which had been conducted over forty years directly in front of the church.

Ten years later, in the fall of 1998, groundbreaking took place and construction began on the Amphitheater. The first Easter Sunrise Services at the amphitheater occurred in 2000 with a new stage in place. During the fall of 2000, seats from Memorial Stadium in Baltimore were purchased. Work continued during the Fall of 2001 with landscaping and the 630 seats being refurbished and repainted Elk Neck Green.

The Hart's Amphitheater was officially dedicated on April 21, 2002 and today continues to host annual events and concerts. The Easter Sunrise Service and a Live Nativity are just two of the annual events held at the Amphitheater. Check our website and like us on Facebook for scheduled events.
